Great Blue Hole, UNESCO World Heritage marine sinkhole, 124m deep, 318m wide, in Lighthouse Reef Atoll (60 km offshore). Diving the Blue Hole: $250–350/person for 3-tank trip (Blue Hole + Half Moon Caye + Long Caye Aquarium), advanced certification recommended (40m+ depth required). Snorkel-only Blue Hole: aerial photography from helicopter ($300–500/person) is the better option for non-divers, the Blue Hole is more spectacular from above than from snorkeling depth. Best from Ambergris Caye or Caye Caulker dive operators.
ATM Cave (Actun Tunichil Muknal), Maya archaeological cave with skeletal remains, ceremonial pottery, 14-year-old skeletal sacrifice. Tour requires guide (mandatory permit since 2010); 1-hour wade through underground river including swimming sections, then climb to ceremonial chamber where pottery and skeletons are preserved in situ. No cameras allowed inside since 2012 (after a tourist dropped one on a skull). Cost: $90–120/person for full-day tour from San Ignacio. Plan 1 day from San Ignacio (Cayo).
