All gems
- Kaasbar Amsterdam (Amsterdam, Netherlands) — Awesome experience despise the high cost, no regret that was an amazing time !
- Secret Garden (Amsterdam, Netherlands) — We went way over our head with this one as this is a big purse restaurant. Expect around 80/100€ per person but the food is great nonetheless just not worth such prices
- Pizzeria Biga (Schaerbeek, Belgium) — Crowned best pizzas of Belgium !
- SAINT-JEAN Bakery (Amsterdam, Netherlands) — Super nice honestly worth the wait but 1 hour to get in you better not be hungry ...
- Bánh Mì Hòa Mã (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) — This is the banh mi place in Saigon but way too many people
- Madam Khanh - The Banh Mi Queen (Da Nang, Vietnam) — The banh mi queen is a deserved title. OMG how good can these get !
- Ốc 30k (Da Nang, Vietnam) — This is THE local place to eat ! Super cheap, super good, fresh seafood and an overall really family friendly ambiance it's lovely !
- MEXICAN CHOICE (Da Nang, Vietnam) — You wouldn't think of eating mexican in Vietnam but you'd also pass by a gem cause this was so good that Cassandra who doesn't like spices asked for more !
- Tân Coffee (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Extremely chill and local, great arabica coffee and ambiance !
- Trung Nguyên Legend Café (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Far from everything which makes it extremely empty but that might change since it opened 3 weeks before we visited. Great space to work from, best coconut coffee without a doubt ! Slightly more expensive but the worth the money.
- XLIII Specialty Coffee (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Extremely expensive ! I didn't want to put it on the map but I still do as this is a MUST AVOID place !
- Đốm Café (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Awesome local coffee shop with great beans and great vibes. Love it for a soft sunday morning work !
- Mẽo coffee (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Extremely empty which is great for work. No cats unfortunately but waiters are super nice and the place is great overall !
- Cafe Phuong (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Really nice if the weather allows you to work outside but besides that there is nothing to it really
- Nest Coffee & Co-Working Space (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Best coworking space ! For 1.5€ you get a drink and 4 hours of coworking + you can rent some monitors and the waiter is extremely attentive to your needs. Great place to lock in !
- Oxy Garden Coffee (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Fine, great for hanging out but no working is possible there
- V7 Tab Coffee (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Instagram hype only. The ambiance looks great but that's the only thing really standing out, the rest is meh.
- Wind Garden (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Far from everything this is one of our go to place because of the low amount of people and great chill vibes unless the waiters decide to blast the shit out of their amplifiers which makes it hard to work even with sound-proof headphones.
- Xanh Design DN (Tiệm Cây và Nước) (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Also great for hanging out but no working is possible there
- LUK inn coffee (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Hostel cafe with a lot of expats which can give great interactions but besides that the area is way too touristic so this isn't a proper local experience.
- Lighthouse (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Indie hacker HQ and Europeanised place through and through. The variety is nice and prices not exaggerated too much for such place but don't expect any locals there. This is a European cafe made for westerners who can't handle the rough edges of vietnamese life.
- The Local Beans | Coffee - Roastery & co-Working Space – Da Nang (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Pricey and the coworking isn't free but the coffee tastes amazing and the work facilities are really nice ! Also this is a great spot to do conferences if you're into those !
- TIỆM BÁNH Mì ( BREAD) ANH THƯ (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Not the cheapest banh mi you can find but the juices are generous and the owners are nice especially to recurring customers ! Do mind they are really pushy to get new customers but that's easily forgivable thanks to their nice chicken banh mi.
- Vegetable stand (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Don't ever buy fruits anywhere else than at a grandma's shop like this one ! Sweetest vendor, best prices, best fruits too ! Nothing you can compare to the minimart experience ! Also she sells organically sourced eggs (regular and quail) so definitely grab some on the go.
- Wind Garden (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Cheap, workable and has a cool little koi fish pond ! Far from tourist places and close to the beach for afterwork fun !
- Sushi Taka (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) — Fancy an omakase but don't want to break your bank ? This is the place. The super fancy experience for an attractive price ! Staff was extremely young giving a "smoother" vibe than fine dining restaurants but the level of mastery is there nonetheless !
- MUGEN TAKOYAKI & DRINKS (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) — The japanese food in Saigon is top notch and if you're craving some takoyaki like we usually were (yes we are fat) then this place rocks some crispy takoyaki so good it made us sad to leave Saigon. The spicy cilantro ones are the best for around 1.3€ for 6 !
- Bamos Coffee (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) — This is more of a coworking than a cafe because you can literally go 24/7 and never pay if you don't consume coffee which we obviously don't recommend as the coconut coffee is actually really good !
- Bò né 3 Ngon (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) — Seen in vlog #3 of Vanpelt : one of many great Bo ne places but this one packs a lot of different meat rather than traditional beef and egg only bo ne ! Comes with a soda and some lovely cooks !
- XYZ Café (Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) — Best workplace, not a lot of people, super great coffee and atmosphere for a great price !
- Great Market (Schaerbeek, Belgium) — A hidden gem known by only a few but this is the best supermarket there is in Brussels. Best prices, a wide variety of Mediterranean products and a caterer that also does all you can eat brunches !! A must do even when visiting !
- Life Is Beautiful - Cocktail Bar (Brussels, Belgium) — Into homemade cocktails ? Into fancy but fairly priced ? This place is always packed and there is a good reason for it !
- DaLongYi HotPot (Brussels, Belgium) — Vanpelt's favorite restaurant for special occasion. EXTRA spicy ! Great ambiance and food but pricey so not to abuse of ! (especially since it will destroy your bowels)
- Au bon bol (Brussels, Belgium) — You most likely didn't travel to Belgium to eat Japanese, but if you want some handmade noodles that pack a serious amount of flavor for the best prices in town this is the spot !
- Barnabeer (Namur, Belgium) — Even though we don't drink anymore there used to be a time we did, and it happened to be there. Wide choice of beer + affordable prices while keeping a classy feel to the ambiance !
- La Maison des Desserts (Namur, Belgium) — THE reference in town for any form of sweet treat ! Done by a grandma over the course of her whole life ! A must do in town for sweet lovers.
- Café Nomade (Namur, Belgium) — Cassandra's favorite hot chocolate (chocolat chaud pralin) which is delivered with a view on the river and is also a great workplace for remote workers !
- Le Glacetronome (Namur, Belgium) — The best ice cream of our hometown. This is the address to go to on a sunny day in Namur
- L'Atelier de la Fromagerie du Samson (Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium) — If you fancy trying some of the best cheese of your life...
- Chez Gaby 1 (Namur, Belgium) — Simply the number 1 chip shop in Vanpelt's hometown, they have a second location nearby if this one closed but forever in Van's heart this one is the old gem that every Namur citizen refer to as the best chips in town.
- Simple (Schaerbeek, Belgium) — Artisanal bakery with sourdough pastries which are killer good. Try the brioche-croissants it's really unique to them and really good ! Cons is that you need to buy half of one loaf but that's the best deal either way.
- Phở Long Hói - 122 Hồ Nghinh (Da Nang, Vietnam) — Local pho with thick meat pieces and special soup (the orange one) which is super affordable especially for the portion size
- Chez Léon (Brussels, Belgium) — Typical belgian restaurant with some of the best prices you can find in Brussels. We highly recommend the Leon formula which (at the time of posting : May 2026) costs 20€ and includes a pot of fresh mussels, fries and a beer which is a super great deal !
