◉ FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Everything you need to know about travel maxxing and how TravelMaxing works.

What is travel maxxing?
Travel maxxing is the Gen Z approach to travel: squeezing the most experiences, culture, and value out of every single trip. Same budget, more memories; same time off, more countries. TravelMaxing helps you plan smarter by combining weather data, cost of living, visa requirements, and a community of fellow travelers in one place.
How is TravelMaxing different from other trip planners?
TravelMaxing is weather-aware and budget-aware by default. Instead of just listing places, it shows you historical weather patterns, cost of living for 330+ cities, visa requirements based on your passport, and other travelers currently at your destinations — all on an interactive 3D globe.
Is TravelMaxing free to use?
Yes. The core planner, globe, weather layer, cost-of-living data, visa lookups, and live traveler map are free. Paid credits unlock AI features (route optimization, itinerary generation, destination deep-dives, budget breakdowns) and public meetup hosting. Plans start at 5 EUR/month.
Can I check visa requirements for my passport?
Yes. TravelMaxing includes a visa requirements checker covering 199 countries. Pick your nationality and any destination to see whether you need a visa, an e-visa, an ETA, visa on arrival, or can enter visa-free — including the typical allowed stay.
How do meetups work on TravelMaxing?
Any traveler can host a public meetup with a location, date, and time. Hosting costs credits scaled to the max number of attendees. Other users can browse public meetups on the live map and request to join. You can also organize private, invite-only meetups for friends.
What data powers the weather layer?
The weather layer uses multi-year historical climatology data from Open-Meteo, served as weekly temperature and precipitation averages. It shows you what conditions are typical at a destination on a given date — not a live forecast, but the kind of data that tells you whether August in Kyoto or December in Lisbon fits your trip.
