From Twitter Comment to Long-Lasting Friendship
You've probably experienced this yourself: you see an interesting tweet, you reply, the author is on the same page as you, and you start engaging on a regular basis.
What started as a few replies from Dara on Andi's posts transformed into a mutual follow, then an internet friendship, which later converted into an IRL meetup in London!
The Reply Guy Who Couldn't Be Ignored
Dara, being a big reply guy, couldn't avoid Andi's posts for long. Andi's content has been a staple of the build-in-public community since the launch of his website scoring project, which propelled his MRR from $0 to a few hundred in a matter of months!
The most impressive part? It was his first project!
The community couldn't help but admire this incredible natural builder who made a breakthrough in such a short period. In his usual reply fashion, Dara showed repetitive support like he always does. Andi noticed and particularly appreciated how genuine and kind Dara is, which led him to follow back and engage regularly with him.
When Digital Becomes Real
From those everyday conversations arose a realization: Andi was set to travel to London for a weekend in December, and as it turned out, Dara lives in London! What a perfect opportunity to finally meet the person sitting on the other side of the screen!
And so they agreed: on the 14th of December, they should meet up in town.
And meet up they did!
They enjoyed each other's company in person just as much as on the internet and spent an afternoon talking about each other's aspirations for the future of their indie hacker careers.
From Comment to Connection
From a single comment to a long-term friendship, as simple as that!
This story could be yours one day!
If you happen to be traveling or just want to meet other builders while they pass by your city, do yourself a favor and register your location in the settings of the app! This way, you'll never miss any potential meetup!
Because sometimes the best friendships start with a reply. 🚀
